Team Goals/Strategies/Action Plans

  1. To implement Strategic Highway Research Project (SHRP) ASR technologies through AASHTO to all members and local agencies to ensure that:
    1. Testing procedures to identify potential reactivity are implemented
    2. Safe PCC mix designs to prevent premature failure are developed and implemented
    3. Existing ASR problems are identified
    4. Rehabilitation strategies are implemented to extend the working life of ASR-affected PCC pavements and structures
  2. To implement an education and technology transfer and assistance program to ensure that the financial benefits of SHRP ASR technology implementation are achieved in 50% of AASHTO member states and appropriate local agencies by Sept. 2000.
